Marcela is a self-taught artist, gardener and costume designer recently relocated to Los Angeles from New Orleans. Her art making process is mainly about getting out of the way of whatever is trying to come into being. She rarely has a predetermined concept for a piece's content but prefers to wait and see what emerges. Most of the time, she doesn't know what she's making until it's done and sometimes not even then. She just knows that it feels good to make stuff, so she does.
