ARTIST BIO Greg Gould is an L.A. based artist who hase been actively selling and exhibiting his artwork since 1996. Through his paintings, drawings, and sculptural pieces, he hopes to create an inner dialogue (and at times, a debate) in the public at large. To date, his works have been included in group shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Sydney, Australia. His works have been collected in each of those cities on the occasions nof the group shows he has taken part in. During a period of time from 1999 – 2002, he worked with an internationally known artist in NYC. At that time, the two of them often traveled through Germany, Switzerland, and France, meeting with curators of various museums and art institutions, mainly on the occasions of the Art Basel and Art Cologne. During these trips, a number of collaborative video works were integrated into the collections of the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart (Germany), Ludwig Museum, Cologne (Germany), and Centre George Pompidou, Paris (France). At the end of 2002, Greg moved back to Los Angeles, and has since worked on various projects. Notably, he painted murals for the set of an independent film shot in downtown L.A. in 2005, and he created works for two group shows of ‘eco-friendly’ art (on billboard vinyl which had been recovered from a landfill). The first of these shows, called ‘Off the Wall’, had been reviewed by the L.A. Times (April 2005). As of 2007, he continues to show work monthly in exhibitions held by various galleries and organizations in Los Angeles, and has maintained a studio space at The Hive Gallery and Studios in downtown Los Angeles since 2005.
